Canada has a long history of mineral exploration, discovery and production. The last few years in the junior resource sectoor have been extremely challenging. Tocvan believes that these challenges now represent tremendous opportunity.
Companies that have been struggling have been forced to issue equity at lower prices. Good quality projects are now situated within companies where capital structure makes it difficult to raise necessary capital, even for projects that have successful advancements.
One such opportunity that existed as a result of the downturn resulted in Tocvan’s ability to negotiate an option to earn an 80% interest on the Rogers Creek property from Carube Copper.
The property has had the benefit of having over three million dollars of exploration work completed. The work to date has unearthed great potential and narrowed the focus to high priority targets.
Like many junior resource companies Carube has had challenges in raising necessary capital while having to focus on other commitments. Tocvan is now able to benefit from knowledge gained from previous exploration activity and advance the project in a new company with an attractive capital structure.
Tocvan Management now plans to start to earn its interest in an efficient yet cost effective manner while limiting expenses and keeping the company capital structure attractive.
Management will continue to evaluate other opportunities in the sector where it believes significant share holder value will be created.
