Kin Mining NL (ASX:KIN) is a West Australian based gold development and exploration company. Kin’s key focus is its 100% owned Leonora Gold Project (LGP) located in the highly prospective North-Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia. The LGP has a +1Moz gold resource (JORC 2012) already defined in shallow open pits and considerable potential exists to grow this resource with further drilling.
The Cardinia Gold Project (CGP) areas (Mertondale and Cardinia – situated 20-40km NE of Leonora and Raeside – situated 10km SE of Leonora) are located within the North Eastern Goldfields, the easternmost subdivision of the Archaean Yilgarn Block on the Leonora (SH51-01) and Laverton 1:250,000 map sheets (SH51-02). The Eastern Goldfields Province comprises volcanic and sedimentary greenstone sequences of rocks of the Kurnalpi Terrain that were deposited around 2,700Ma. The greenstone sequence has undergone multiple folding events, metamorphosed to low or medium grade, extensively intruded by granitoids at about 2,680-2,660Ma and subjected to major faulting along northerly to north-north westerly trends. The greenstones can be further subdivided into four regional geological terranes generally separated by major terrain bounding faults or granitoids. The districts terranes from west to east are the Malcolm, Murrin, Laverton and Cosmo Newbery greenstone sequences.
The Raeside Project consists of two tenements M37/1298 (11.2 sqkm) and E37/1300 (12.0 sqkm) located approximately 10km east of Leonora. Four gold deposits occur within the Project area. These deposits are historic and recognised as Michelangelo, Leonardo, Forgotten Four and Krang. The gold deposits are all located on M37/1298, positioned south of the Leonora-Kalgoorlie railway line and within about two kilometres of each other. The mined open pit, the Forgotten Four (1990-1992 Triton Resources) yielded 55,839t @ 3.92 g/t Au (7,030oz) to a mined depth of 45m. There are at least two mineralised lodes at Forgotten Four of which one was partly mined by Triton.
The Randwick Gold Project is a greenfields project area (28.2 sqkm) that has been identified for its gold and base metal potential. The holding comprises one ML (M37/1316), fifteen PL’s (P37/8000, 8965-73, 9320-25) of which one is subject to conversion MLA (M37/1343). Randwick is located approximately 50km NE of Leonora within the Mt Malcolm District of the Mt Margaret Mineral Field in the North Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia. The Project area surrounds the old historic Randwick Mining Centre (past production +13,000 ozs Au).
The Mt Flora Project consists of three contiguous tenements M39/1118, P39/5859 and P39/5860 covering an area of (12.82 sqkm) located approximately 48km NNE of Leonora in the Mt Morgan’s District of the Mt Margaret Mineral Field of WA.
The Murrin Murrin Gold Project covers several GML’s and consists of two (2) Mining Leases surrounded by nine (9) Prospecting Licence with an additional two (2) PL’s awaiting conversion to ML39/1136. The holding covers a large prospective area (19.0 sqkm) located 5km east of the historic Murrin Murrin Mining Centre within the Mt Morgan’s District of the Mt Margaret Mineral Field of Western Australia approximately 55km ENE of Leonora and 72km west of Laverton in the centre of the North Eastern Goldfields.
The Redcastle Project is gold focused; the holding consists of one (1) Prospecting Licence and two (2) Mining Leases, of which one is under application, covering a small but prospective area of 358ha. The Project is located in the vicinity of the Redcastle Mining Centre within the Murrin Murrin District of the Mt Margaret Mineral Field of WA approximately 64km east of Leonora and 60km west of Laverton in the North Eastern Goldfields.
The Desdemona Project consists of eleven (11) Exploration Licences, six (6) Prospecting Licences and two (2) Mining Leases. The Project covers a large, contiguous area (268.3 sqkm) immediately south of Leonora and 2.5km south of the long-life, high-grade Sons of Gwalia mine. The Project covers the western side of the Melita Greenstone Belt in contact with the Raeside Granitic Batholith and extends as far east as the Kookynie Road. The greenstone stratigraphy strikes generally north-south to northeast-southwest and is offset by several strike-slip faults. The Gwalia and Mt George Shear Zones form the margin between the granitoids to the west in contact with the greenstones package. The east the Project is bound by the Emu Fault and the eastern extensions of Lake Raeside.
Iron King Group
The Iron King Project is located in the Mt Malcolm District of the Mt Margaret Mineral Field in the centre of the North Eastern Goldfields 50km NNW of the township of Leonora. The Project is approximately 14km NW of the King of the Hills Gold Mine (Tarmoola) and 15km SW of the Teutonic Bore (Cu-Pb-Zn-Ag) mine.
