Canyon Resources is focused on developing the Minim Martap Bauxite project in the Adamawa Region of Cameroon.

Minim Martap Bauxite Project

PROJECT BACKGROUND

Canyon’s Minim Martap bauxite project is a global tier one bauxite asset with exploration upside. Canyon has delineated a Mineral Resource of 892Mt at 45.1%, Al2O3 2.8% SiO2 (JORC 2012) at Minim Martap including a high-grade, low contaminant Indicated resource of 431Mt at 48.8% Al2O3, 2.6% SiO2 (total) which contains substantial zones of >50% Al2O3.

Less than 50% of the project’s bauxite plateau have been explored to date, providing potential to further grow this resource.

The Project encompasses two main deposits, Ngouandal and Minim Martap, located within 25km of each other. The exploration permits cover a total of 1,349sq km. Minim Martap is adjacent to Canyon’s Birsok Bauxite Project and nearby to an existing operating rail line.

Birsok Project - Bauxite

The Birsok Project is located in central Cameroon and is contiguous to Canyon’s world-class high-grade Minim Martap bauxite deposit. The Project is comprised of two permits over 1,462km2 and is located along raised plateaux similar to the nearby Minim Martap Deposit.  The project is highly prospective for high grade, low contaminant, DSO bauxite, and importantly is within 10km of the rail line to the Kribi port facility.

Burkina Faso Project

Some of the world’s most productive mines are located in West African greenstone belts. These belts cover approximately 3, 000 km², making the area’s exploration potential enormous. Burkina Faso currently accounts for 21% of West Africa’s greenstone belt exposure.

Canyon’s four project areas are along these greenstone belts and have potential to host significant mineral resources, as demonstrated by recent exploration results.

  • Taparko North Project (northeast)
  • Tao Project (northeast)
  • Derosa Project (north)
  • Pinarello Project (south-west)

Canyon’s projects are along strike from operating multi-million-ounce gold mines;

  • Taparko (2MozAu)
  • Essakane (5MozAu)
