Robson adds three-quarters of the portfolio is in higher-yielding private bi-lateral or private club investments with the remainder in more liquid public debt transactions.

The trust’s investment manager, RM Capital Markets, continued to grow the portfolio of secured debt investments at the end of the year, with significant progress made in deploying the £30mln raised in October 2017 through the issue of C shares.

AIQ raises £4M and begins acquisitions hunt. The new company name for shell/SPAC outfit "AIQ" is derived from Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Intelligence Quotient (IQ). Non-Executive Chairman Graham Duncan tells Proactive what the company hopes to achieve now there's ample funding in the pot; which sectors and geographies the team is targetting and when they hope to begin on those acquisitions.

Glint reintroducing gold as money with launch of 'world first' payments app Ben Davies, co-founder of Glint, spoke to Proactive as they launched their debit card and app which allows consumers to pay for goods and services with gold.

The fintech group's teamed up with Lloyds Banking Group to create the app which allows people to load credit onto their card which can then be used to buy part of a physical piece of gold.

Glint is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

RM Secured Direct Lending raises £30mln to further diversify portfolio Pietro Nicholls from RM Secured Direct Lending PLC (LON:RDML) tells Proactive's Andrew Scott their portfolio now includes a total of 21 loans across 10 sectors, with an average yield of 8.26% and a weighted-average life of 3.74 years.

During the third quarter the company made five investments.

They now have £68m of commitments of which £51m has been deployed on a cash basis.

The target for the fund raise is £125mln, with the company looking to list on the London Stock Exchange and the Social Stock Exchange in October 2017.

''They wanted to increase their capacity, buy another boat and they've used our capital - we have a 25 year agreement with them and for our returns we're looking for an IRR of around 15%''.

FairFX boss Ian Strafford-Taylor 'delighted' with 2016 performance Ian Strafford-Taylor, chief executive of FairFX Group Plc (LON:FFX) talks through performance of the multi-currency payments service with Proactive's Stocktube.

Its revenue from currency transactions rose 27.9% to £10.19mln from £7.97mln the year before. In total, £798.3mln of currency transactions passed through the FairFX platform, up 27.4% from £636.8mln in 2015.

International payments turnover rose 49.2% year-on-year to £446.5mln while currency card turnover was up 24.1% to £299.0mln.

During the year, 80,202 new customers were added to the business, bringing the total up to 588,192. The first quarter of 2017 saw another 15,070 customers get on board, bringing the total up to 603,262.

Mundoro Capital's Teo Dechev 'very excited' about drilling at Borsko license Teo Dechev, president and CEO of Mundoro Capital Inc (CVE:MUN) runs Proactve through their projects in Serbia and Bulgaria.

Dechev tells Andrew Scott they've recently extended their drill program at the Borsko Jezero licence after positive findings and to further test two targets at the property.

Borsko is one of the four licences being sole financed by JOGMEC (Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation) as part of the JOGMEC-Mundoro option agreement announced last summer.

It means the previously announced 600-metre drill program at the site has been extended by up to 2,220 metres.

Worldpay set to smash through the £3 barrier, claims analyst Leading technical analysts Zak Mir is tipping the share price of payments processing firm Worldpay Group PLC (LON:WPG) to break out of its trading range and head past the £3 mark.

“We’ve got the shares in a trading range between £2.50 and £3.10 and we’re right in the middle of that range at the moment,” Mir says in the Proactive Investors Bulletin Board.

“While above the 50-day moving average at £2.72, the shares should push towards the top of the trading range at £.10 to £3.20 over the next couple of months.”

Q Money acquisition 'a real turning point' says FairFX chief Multicurrency payments services provider FairFX Group Plc (LON:FFX) has snapped up digital business banking firm Q Money – and its associated e-money licence – for £425,000.

CEO Ian Strafford-Taylor tells Proactive: ''The deal is a real turning point for us. Essentially what we're getting here, the e-money licence in of itself whilst important it's just a piece of paper .... what's important is what you can do with it''.
