Asiamet's Steve Hughes hails 'fabulous' metallurgy results from BKM Asiamet Resources Limited's (LON:ARS) Vice President of Exploration Steve Hughes couldn't resist a quick catch up with Proactive presenter Andrew Scott while in London at Mines and Money 2017 …  describing the recent metallurgy results from the BKM copper deposit in Indonesia as truly "fabulous".

''It's all lovely stuff'', Hughes goes on to add.

"We specifically drilled to the north in all holes targeting the first three years of planned mine life and we got some fabulous numbers."

"We got 115.5m @ 1% copper and in there were multiple zones of 2% copper."

Asiamet Resources continuing to hit high grades at BKZ Steve Hughes, VP of exploration for Asiamet Resources PLC (LON:ARS), tells Proactive's Andrew Scott their drilling programme at BKZ continues to deliver high grades of a number of metals.

What began as a five-hole programme has now become 12 with Hughes saying he's just finished the tenth hole today.

''We've got two holes left .. I suspect it's about another week and then we'll move the rig. I think we'll probably go down to southern BKM where there's more massive sulphides''.

Asiamet's 'Mr Zinc' a happy man as BKZ increasingly looks like a stand-alone project Steve Hughes, VP of exploration at Asiamet Resources PLC (LON:ARS), caught up with Proactive for a quick update on the back of latest exploration work at BKZ.

He says he's increasingly confident they've found a new stand-alone polymetallic deposit at the prospect in Kalimantan, Indonesia.

Hughes says they've still got the drill rig in the immediate area - one hole's in progress and they're starting to head further south.

''We'll finish up two more holes and then that'll be all the scout drilling completed'', Hughes says.

''Then we'll do some evaluation and I'm pretty sure we'll upgrade the program to delineation drilling''.

Asiamet Resources drooling over initial BKZ assays Steve Hughes, VP of exploration at Asiamet Resources PLC (LON:ARS) tells Proactive they've intersected further near surface high grade base and precious metal rich mineralisation along strike of earlier hits at the BKZ prospect in Indonesia.

Further drilling is required to determine the ultimate dimensions and continuity of the mineralised body.

But the results of this scout drilling provide confidence for a potential standalone high grade polymetallic deposit.

BKZ is located approximately 800m north of Asiamet's feasibility-stage BKM copper project.

Asiamet Resources shares set to test five-year highs, says Zak Mir Technical analyst Zak Mir is tipping the Asiamet Resources Limited (LON:ARS) share price to re-test the 7p zone, a level not seen since 2012 in the coming months.

“We’ve been in an uptrend since the big breakout at the beginning of the year through 3p, since when 4p has effectively become the support zone – well above the 200-day moving average at 3.55p,” explains Mir in the latest Proactive Investors Bulletin Board.

“While we hold above the 200-day line, the notional technical target over the next two to three months is as high as 7p at the top of this year’s trend channel.”

Asiamet's BKM project 'developing quite nicely', says analyst Paul Renken Paul Renken, VSA Capital's mining analyst and media commentator gives his view on developments at Asiamet Resources Limited's (LON:ARS) BKM project in Indonesia.

The company's told investors that ongoing resource definition drilling continues to intersect thick intervals of copper mineralisation.

Latest holes, BKM31900-02 and BKM1900-03, were both outside of the current BKM resource envelope suggesting they will contribute new resources.

''It's developing quite nicely ... all of the initial drilling is now being infilled with additional drilling in order to move it into the categories for which the feasibility study can be measured'', Renken says.

''It's definitely hitting the kinds of resources we thought it would ... very nice, very thick, very shallow and easy to treat''.

Atalaya Mining shares can jump to 160-170p in early 2017 Atalaya Mining Plc (LON:ATYM) shares could jump to trade around 160p to 170p by the end of the first quarter if not before, so says technical analyst Zak Mir.
He says the recent rally, a 40% rise since the start of November, has been driven by the rise in copper prices amid Donald Trump’s election.
“If you look at the copper price chart it looks very similar,” Mir said in a Tip TV segment for Proactive Investors.
Mir notes a number of technical signals in the chart and highlights that the price has moved above prior resistance around 110p.
“While we hold above 110p I am looking for a big target here, as high as 160-170p over the next few months,” he added.

Asiamet Resources has billion dollar potential - CEO Tony Manini, chief executive of Asiamet Resources Limited (LON:ARS, CVE:ARS) says, "We've definitively got the assets here to create a business that's worth many hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars."

The mining veteran was speaking about the maths of the Beruang Kanan Main copper deposit in Central Kalimantan.  “If you can produce 50,000 tonnes of copper a year you're a billion dollar plus business. The asset base is very capable of achieving that and we've got the team in place that's done this multiple times before and has the ability to execute on that plan."

The Indonesia-focused copper project developer said drilling continues to intersect shallow high grade copper mineralisation within the BK058 zone and talks to engage a strategic investor  are ongoing with groups in both Indonesia and China to support the build out of the company and the project.

Farm-out deal add “enormous” value to Metminco, says chief William Howe, chief executive of copper and gold explorer Metminco Limited (LON:MNC ASX:MNC) says the US$45mln farm–out deal it announced yesterday of its of its Los Calatos project in Peru will allow it to complete the feasibility study.

He tells Proactive Investors that this will in turn “add an enormous amount of value to the project”.

A binding terms sheet has been signed with natural resources fund CD Capital Fund III that will see the money received in 3 tranches to pay for pre-feasibility and feasibility studies over the next 3-4 years.

Howe says the feasibility study could add “12 to 15 times the current capitalisation of the company, so from the point of view of Los Calatos it is a very big deal for Metminco”.

Asiamet to “confirm, consolidate and improve upon” PEA numbers, says CEO Asiamet Resources Limited (LON:ARS, CVE:ARS) has kicked off a 9,000m resource definition drill programme at the Beruang Kanan Main (BKM) copper project in Indonesia, following its positive preliminary economic assessment (PEA).

Tony Manini, chief executive, tells Proactive Investors the “very positive numbers” from the PEA have given the company the encouragement to push ahead with more detailed studies, which should “confirm, consolidate and improve upon” the initial figures.

He adds that Asiamet will also be testing the “high potential prospects around BKM” to increase the resource base, which will “feed into a longer mine life when we get up and running”.

Overall, Manini notes Asiamet has “continued to deliver on everything that we have promised shareholders and we see ourselves in a very strong position”.

Asiamet Resources Limited’s PEA show “outstanding numbers”, says CEO Tony Manini, chief executive of Asiamet Resources Limited (LON:ARS) says he is “extremely pleased” with the results of the preliminary economic assessment (PEA) of Beruang Kanan Main (BKM) copper deposit in Kalimantan, Indonesia, released on Tuesday.

The results outlined a potential scenario in which BKM would produce 25,000 tonnes of LME grade A copper metal to deliver gross revenue of US$1.27bn over the eight year life of the mine.

Speaking to Proactive, Manini says: “By any metric, these numbers are outstanding for a project of this magnitude”.

“We have now come from being a pure junior explorer to actually having a project that has some very attractive financials around it, on a development path but with a lot of very significant growth options in copper and gold sitting in our asset base,” he adds.

Metminco chief: Los Calatos plan set to speed up talks with project partners William Howe, managing director of Metminco (LON:MNC), says a new plan to develop its Los Calatos mine in Peru should speed up talks with potential project partners over the coming months.

“We’re looking to formalise talks over the next through weeks and months. Site visits should take place soon allowing the interested parties to compete their due diligence reports.”

Under revised plans, Metminco would mine 134.4mln tonnes of ore grading 0.89% copper and 0.036% molybdenum.

That would in turn lead to production of 50,000 tonnes of copper in concentrate per year on average, or a total production over the life of the project of 1.1mln tonnes – giving the project net present value (NPV) to US$447mln.

Asiamet Resources chief: BKM drill results "game changing" Tony Manini, chief executive of Asiamet Resources (LON:ARS), says recent drilling results at the firm’s flagship Beruang Kanan copper project in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia, are game changing for the company.

Yesterday the firm told investors it had uncovered a high-grade copper zone at the site and, significantly, it’s very close to the surface which suggests less soil has to be removed to expose the ore.

“Low strip ratios combined with high grades are game changing for any project,” says Manini.
