Northern Petroleum boss pleased with oil output

We spoke with Northern Petroleum Plc (LON:NOP) chief executive Keith Bush following the oil producer’s guardedly optimistic business update.

NOP’s crude output was above target at the group's operations in Alberta, Canada, during a period that was hit by severe weather in the months of May and June.

“Production has been going pretty well, even with those interruptions … we are now back up to the levels of 500 barrels of oil per day plus which is pretty good, and we see the wells performing as expected after our summer and spring workover campaign.”

Bush also highlights plans for more work programmes to further enhance operations.

By the end of the first quarter of 2017, the company expects to be producing between 750 and 1,000 barrels of oil per day, Bush added.
