Company Statement:
Triton Gold embraces its corporate responsibility as a minerals explorer by using environmentally sound practices while providing support that promotes the social and economic well being of the communities in which it operates. This sustainable approach is good business practice that reduces risk, strengthens relationships with stakeholders and makes the Company a more attractive partner in development.
Triton Gold’s objective is to add Shareholder value through discovery and development of quality gold and other metal deposits. The Company aims to achieve this goal by applying leading edge technologies and geological concepts to explore highly prospective mature and immature provinces in Australia and overseas. This strategy is aligned with the generally industry-wide accepted view that the next generation of major deposit discoveries will be either blind to the surface or at deeper levels than those previously explored.
The Company continues to place an emphasis on the application of alteration mapping using geochemistry and multispectral data, in conjunction with mapping and drilling to discover significant gold resources. This approach has been achieved through engagement of industry experts in the field of lithogeochemistry, hydrogeochemistry, geophysics and spectral geology to support the Company’s in house capabilities.
Current Operations:
Project Overview
Triton has an extensive tenement holding in the Albany-Fraser Province, which has emerged as a significant gold province over the last decade with the discovery and continuing development of the +5Moz Tropicana Gold Mine (AngloGold Ashanti/Independence Group JV), and exciting exploration results reported by Beadell Resources Ltd, International Goldfields Ltd, Sipa Resources and others. Triton has established a strategic alliance for the Albany-Fraser Province with Teck Australia Ltd, and includes the Salmon Gums, Fraser Range North, Cundeelee and Neale projects.
Triton recognised that the Windarra Project has the potential to host significant gold mineralisation that may have gone undetected due to the previous operators focus on nickel. Triton has the right to explore for gold in the Windarra district, under a Gold Rights Transfer Agreement with Poseidon Nickel Ltd. In 2011, the Company plans to drill test a number of surface geochemical anomalies and alteration identified from a multispectral study on historic drill chips.
In joint venture with Tushtena Resources and Panoramic Resources, Triton is exploring the Tushtena Project within the Tintina Gold Belt of southeast Alaska. The Tintina Gold Belt hosts world-class gold deposits such as Pogo (5.6M oz) and Fort Knox (3.6M oz). The Company believes the Tushtena Project has the potential to host a significant gold asset on the basis of historic high grade gold results from surface sampling and drilling, the character of the mapped alteration and the relatively limited historical gold exploration.
The Company continues to review new business development opportunities both within Australia, and offshore, to complement the existing portfolio of projects.
