Belvedere Resources' off-take extension protects from future nickel price fall, says broker
An extension to an off-take deal provides the firm with protection from any further downside to the nickel price, according to Ocean Equities. The broker says the deal means that the Hitura mine can be expanded without the fear of financial instability.

Company Statement:
The company re-opened the Hitura nickel sulphide mine in July 2010 ahead of schedule. The mine is currently producing 2,200 tonnes of nickel in concentrate per annum. The Hitura mine site is in close proximity to two of its gold properties.
The company has a considerable portfolio of advanced gold properties in Finland and plans to use the extensive mining experience developed in the company to rapidly progress these towards production.
The company is aiming to quickly build shareholder value in a sustainable, environmentally responsible and safe manner, through organic production growth from its substantial pipeline of development projects, new discoveries and targeted acquisitions.
Belvedere was formed in 1997 with the express purpose of developing mineral properties in Europe. Belvedere maintains a corporate office in Vancouver, Canada and administrative and field offices in Finland.

A mining industry veteran, has founded several successful exploration and mining companies. As Chairman of American Pacific Mining, Mr Dobson successfully reopened the El Mochito zinc and silver mine in Honduras, and more recently, as Chairman of Kirkland Lake Gold has put the Macassa gold mine back into production.

B.Sc. in Geology, 1990, Australia. David is a Geologist with over 20 years of international experience in the mining industry, with roles ranging from Fieldhand to his current role as President and CEO of a Mining Company . He took over management of the company in 2006 and with a new management team oversaw the transition of Belvedere from a junior exploration play to a developing mining company with Nickel and Gold assets.
Dr. T Strauss, COO, Exec. Director
MSc Rhodes University, SA, 1995. PhD Rhodes University, 2003. He has been working in mineral exploration in Finland since 1996, and brought his extensive experience in gold, diamond and base metal exploration to the Belvedere team in 2003. Toby became COO and joined the board in 2006.
S R Cuthill, CFO & Company Secretary
Prior to moving to Canada in 1992, served as Treasurer for Sovereign Oil & Gas Plc. In London, UK. Joined Belvedere in 2003 after holding accounting positions with several mineral resource companies including Operations Accountant (N. America) with Homestake Mining Ltd. Steve became CFO in 2009.
