Projects

Legend currently holds interests in three Projects in Western Australia: Pilbara, Mt Gibson and Gum Creek, and the Cameroon Project in West Africa.

Cameroon Project, West Africa

TheCameroon Project (iron, gold) is located in the southwestern region of Cameroon, West Africa. The Project covers approximately 3,900km² and comprises three granted exploration permits and one exploration permit application. Pilbara Project, Western Australia

The Pilbara Project (iron, nickel-copper, zinc-copper) comprises 686km² of tenure in the West Pilbara, all within 50km of Karratha. Legend and Fox Resources Limited (ASX:FXR) independently control a dominant portion of this emerging and exciting base metal district. Mt Gibson Project, Western Australia

The Mt Gibson Project (zinc-copper-gold) is located 290km northeast of Perth in the Murchison Province and 100km south of the world class VHMS base metal mine at Golden Grove. Mt Gibson operated for 12 years as a gold mine producing 870,000 ounces of gold and has an estimated residual gold Mineral Resource (Indicated and Inferred) of 8.7Mt @ 1.98g/t Au for 559,000 ounces. The Gum Creek Project (iron, nickel-copper-platinum group element) is located 640km northeast of Perth in the Yilgarn Province. The Project is considered prospective for iron ore (magnetite) mineralisation, intrusion-related Ni-Cu-PGE) and komatiite flow-related Ni-sulphide. Read more...

Michael Atkins (Chairman)

Mr Atkins is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and was a founding partner of a national Chartered Accounting practice from 1979 to 1987. Since 1987 he has been involved in the executive management of several publicly listed resource companies with operations in Australia, USA, South East Asia and Africa.

He was Managing Director of Claremont Petroleum NL and Beach Petroleum NL during 1990 and 1991 during their reconstruction, and then remained as a Non Executive Director until 1995. He was also founding Executive Chairman of Gallery Gold NL in 1998, and remained a Non Executive Director until 2000.

He is currently Director, Corporate Finance at Paterson's Securities Limited and Chairman of Azumah Resources Limited.

Mark Wilson (Managing Director)

Mr Wilson is a Member of the Institution of Engineers, Australia and a Chartered Professional Engineer with an Associateship in Civil Engineering from Curtin University in Western Australia. He has an extensive business background, mainly in corporate management and project engineering.

This has included site management of remote construction projects, ten years of commercial construction as a founding proprietor of a Perth based company and the past sixteen years in executive, non-executive, consulting and owner roles in resource focused companies. He served as a Director of Duketon Goldfields NL in 1995/1996 and of Cambrian Resources NL (Servicepoint Ltd) from 1999 to 2003.

Dermot Ryan (Non-Executive Director)

Mr Ryan is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, a Chartered Professional Geologist and a graduate from Curtin University in Western Australia (B.App.Sc.). He has over 30 years experience in the discovery and successful development of gold, base metals, iron ore and diamond deposits.

He has spent 20 years with the CRA (Rio Tinto) group of companies, including ten years as Chief Geologist for CRA Exploration in various parts of Australia. He was General Manager Exploration for Great Central Mines / Normandy Yandal Operations in the 5 year period up to 2001. He has acted as a mineral exploration consultant to both private and public mining and exploration companies in Western Australia, with an emphasis on the gold industry.

Brett White (Joint Company Secretary		Tony Walsh (Joint Company Secretary)
Brett White is a member of the Certifying Practicing Accountants in Australia and holds a bachelor of commerce degree. He has 9 years experience in the fields of Taxation and Company Accounting. Brett has been with Legend Mining for the past 2.5 years in the role of CFO/Financial Controller and also consults to several public companies in the resource sector.		Mr Walsh is a chartered accountant with over 20 years work experience with ASX and publicly listed companies where he has held positions as listings manager and company secretary and has experience in the areas of corporate regulation and capital raisings. He works for a number of public companies in the resource sector. Mr Walsh is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and the Securities Institute of Australia.
