Abitibi-Consolidated and Bowater have merged to form AbitibiBowater. We are a leader in a broad range of forest products —an operationally and financially stronger company better able to meet changing customer needs, compete more effectively in an increasingly global market and deliver increased value to its stockholders. 

The company produces coated papers, book papers, newsprint, groundwood specialty papers, market pulp, directory paper and lumber products. In the United States, Bowater is the largest manufacturer of both newsprint and directory paper.  Bowater operates six recycling plants and is one of the world's largest consumers of recycled newspapers and magazines.

Bowater employs approximately 6,900 people and has 12 pulp and paper mills in the United States, Canada and South Korea. In North America, it also operates one converting facility and owns 10 sawmills.
