Connemara Mining said this morning it had completed an airborne survey over a block of five licences in the Wicklow and Wexford areas of Ireland which may have uncovered previously unknown potential gold targets.

The ZincOx Resources story finally seems to be gaining some traction with investors as the recycling firm gears up for first zinc production in the early part of next year. At 62 pence, the stock is in territory last seen two years ago. 

After mining company Connemara revealed positive results from its Stonepark property in County Limerick, analyst Jason Robertson, of broker Optiva Securities said it could potentially be a world class deposit

ZincOx Resources this morning revealed it has formally completed an off-take agreement with Korea Zinc, which will take all of the group’s production from the first phase of its recycling plant in the country. It sets the seal on what promises to be a busy and productive year.

Optiva Securities analyst Jason Robertson reckons there’s an 80 percent chance that Connemara is holding at least the 'tail' of a potentially world class zinc ore-body in Ireland. It is a partner in one of two projects that might be connected on an important new zinc system. The analyst's bullish 50p target is based on Connemara's project having just 25 percent of the overall deposit, but further drilling may prove that Stonepark is in fact the 'head' of the ore-body.

MD Michael Bohm is confident that the Patricia resource will continue to grow: “Every time we drill we find high grade mineralisation where we expected to find it – but also where we didn't expect to find it!”

Chairman Andrew Woollett admits there have been false starts. However, he puts a compelling case for the landmark ZincOx recycling project in Korea, which could utterly transform the company and its prospects.

The shares surged over 25% by midday on AIM after news that drilling on the flagship Paguanta project increased tonnage by 33%, and upped zinc, lead and silver grades substantially. MD Micheal Bohm said the upgrade augurs well for the planned mining operation, initially targeting 400,000 tonnes of ore per annum.

The Chilean zinc-lead-gold-silver project has seen a significant resource upgrade, and for the first time, Herencia included a gold grade estimation to provide possible revenue credit.

The stock has gained considerable traction on London’s AIM market this week. The latest exploration result propelled it over 60% to a 2-year high in Friday's trading.

Mike Bohm spoke in detail about Herencia Resources' (LON: HER) new major investor and why he was not prepared to sign an off-take agreement for the zinc from the firm’s Paguanta project in Chile.

The group is on track to achieve its goal of completing drilling by May, receiving assay results regularly between April and June and delivering an update to its mineral resource estimate by mid-2010.
