Zimplats Holdings Limited is engaged in the development and mining of platinum group metals in Zimbabwe. The Company holds approximately two thirds of the Hartley Complex in Great Dyke. Open pit production during the fiscal year ended June 30, 2008 (fiscal 2008), was 1 301 000 tons. Open pit production constituted 53% of the total ore production. Total underground ore production for the year was 1 145 000 tons. Of this tonnage, 978 000 tons was from Portal 2 whist Portal 1, which is ramping up to full production, contributed 155 000 tons.
Its subsidiaries include Hartley Platinum Mines Limited, Mhondoro Holdings Limited, Matreb Investments (Private) Limited, Mhondoro Mining Company Limited, Mhondoro Platinum Holdings Limited and Ngezi Platinum Limited.
