Hawthorne Gold Corp. is a Canadian-based gold exploration and development company with key properties located in British Columbia, Canada.
Hawthorne Gold is led by respected mining leaders Richard Barclay and Michael Beley. Hawthorne's goal is to become a junior gold producer by working towards production at the Cassiar Gold Mine and continued resource development at the Taurus and Frasergold deposits.
Utilizing the management expertise in mine-finding, construction and operation, Hawthorne Gold anticipates pursuing additional exploration and late stage development projects.
Hawthorne Gold Complete Phase III Drill Program at 88 Hill, Taurus deposit; gold targets confirmed
Hawthorne Gold Corp. (TSX-V: HGC) announced the final six drill hole results, totalling 422.15 metres, from the Phase III diamond drill program on the 88 Hill Zone situated within the western portion of the Taurus deposit. Results from the three phase drill program have demonstrated the presence of near-surface gold targets within the Taurus deposit. The latest assays revealed a 28.6 grams per tonne mineralization across 0.94 meters.
Hawthorne Gold is a Canadian gold exploration and development company with key properties in British Columbia. Hawthorne's goal is to become a junior gold producer by working towards production at Cassiar gold mine and to continue resource development of the nearby Taurus deposit, as well as the Frasergold deposit in the south central British Columbia Cariboo region.
The Phase III drill program consisted of eleven drill holes totalling 987.54m on the 88 Hill Zone situated within the western portion of the Taurus deposit.
The highlight of the latest drill test was the ‘TA09-025’ exploration hole which encountered 5 intersections, including a highly concentrated 28.6 grams per tonne across 0.94 meters and four broader intersections with grading between 1.8 and 4.6 grams per tonne.
Across all six new holes, the assay results highlight numerous intersections with a variety of grades between 1.8 and 28.6 grams per tonne, the Assays intersected equally broad widths of mineralization from 0.74m to 5.57m.
Last month, Hawthorne Gold released the assay results for the first half of the drilling program. All five holes intersected mineralisation ranging from just under a meter in thickness to 9.75 meters in thickness with grades varying from 1.3 grams per tonne gold to as high as 33.4 grams per tonne gold.
The aim of the Taurus zone drilling is to delineate a small-tonnage, higher grade near-surface gold zone in excess of 3.5 grams per ton of gold, amenable to open pit mining. Once the zone is defined, the mineralized material could potentially be used as mill feed at the permitted Cassiar gold mine when production commences.
Hawthorne has already defined a NI 43-101 compliant resource of 33 million tonnes grading 1 gram per tonne gold (1.06 million ounces of gold) at the Taurus deposit.
