smartFOCUS wins Carnival UK deal to supply CRM software across all 4 cruise brands

28th Sep 2009, 10:39 am smartFOCUS wins Carnival UK deal to supply CRM software across all 4 cruise brands

Marketing software specialist smartFOCUS Group PLC (AIM: STF) said it won a contract with cruiseline operator Carnival UK (LSE: CCL) under which the company will implement, support and enhance Carnival's marketing campaigns across its P&O Cruises, Cunard Line, Princess Cruises and Ocean Village brands.

It declined to provide financial details.

Carnival is developing a new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform across its entire operation and smartFOCUS’s marketing tools will form a significant part of the new integrated system. Carnival has targeted January 2010 for the system’s roll out.

SmartFOCUS will provide marketing tools for high performance analysis of marketing data, enabling Carnival’s in-house marketers to segment data lists and analyse results to produce relevant and detailed reports.

Carnival will also use smartFOCUS to deliver campaign planning and management functionality. The system can define the marketing campaign process and deploy data selections within structured repeatable marketing campaigns.

Today’s announcement rounds off a very positive month for smartFOCUS, who last week reported that they had swung into profitability for the year. Last Thursday’s interim results reported a 13% increase in revenues for H1 and emphasised SmartFOCUS’s confidence about the 2009 outlook.

This latest contract win for smartFOCUS will bolster performance further, supplementing its growing client base. This year has seen several key additions with other major clients including Sony, Betfair and The Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Internationally smartFOCUS is also developing its brand’s appeal, with emerging operations in America and Japan, adding a major new client in the US, the Dallas Morning News and the further evolution of its Japanese partnership with BrainPad.

SmartFOCUS has over 700 clients internationally. European operations earn smartFOCUS 75% of its revenues, while its international operations account for 25%.

Shares in smartFOCUS posted a fourfold increase during the past six months, improving from 3 pence in March to the current level of around 12 pence per share.
