Implant Sciences (OTC:IMSC), maker of sensors and security systems, reported Monday it has promoted Joe Laskey to area vice president and general manager of Asian sales and business development.
In his new role, Laskey’s position will cover countries like China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan.
In a statement, Implant Sciences' Chief Executive, Glenn Bolduc, said: “Joe's promotion to area VP is in recognition of the significant market traction he has helped Implant Sciences achieve in Asia.
"Thanks in large part to his efforts, we expect to see continued near and long term growth in the region."
The company added that Laskey has developed strong relationships with channel partners and security organizations, building Implant's brand.
"His keen understanding of the challenges faced by those opposing terrorism have made Joe a valued resource to his customers,” the company added.
China reflects Implant Sciences' largest installed customer base, with more than 800 Quantum Sniffer QS-H150 units shipped.
The company's new bench-top explosives trace detector, the Quantum Sniffer QS-B220, is now being tested in Beijing and being presented to potential customers there.
Implant makes and develops technologies used for commercial explosive trace detection. Its systems are used by private companies and government agencies to screen baggage, cargo, vehicles, other objects and people for the detection of trace amounts of explosives.
