BA August 2009 passenger load factor up 1.5 point vs yr-earlier at 84.7 pct
British Airways PLC (LSE: BAY) reported a 1.5 percentage points rise in passenger load factor for August 2009 to 84.7 percent compared with a year earlier, saying market conditions remain unchanged with yields under pressure from the year on year impact of lower fuel surcharges, exchange movements and mix
In its traffic and capacity statistics update for August, the airline said passenger capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometres, fell 2.4 percent from August 2008, while traffic, measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres, was down 0.7 percent from last year.
Premium traffic showed an 11.9 percent decrease while non-premium traffic was up 1.3 percent.
Cargo, measured in Cargo Tonne Kilometres, fell by 5.4 percent.
