Junior explorer La Quinta Resources (TSX-V: LAQ) said Monday it has hired SJ Geophysics to conduct an electrical geophysical survey at its BlackJack property located in Elko County, Nevada.

The company said that historic data from the site shows significant lead, silver, zinc, gold and copper values, associated with polymetallic sulfides hosted in veins within Ordovician limestones.

The survey, which will consist of approximately 22,600 lineal feet, will be flanking the historic workings on the property, and it is anticipated that the polarization technique used will be helpful in delineating hidden veins and massive sulfide lead-silver mineralization in previously unexplored regions.

Aside from BlackJack, La Quinta is also exploring on its Easter project, which is underlain by an epithermal quartz-adularia vein stockwork system hosted within Tertiary volcanic rocks of the Caliente Caldron Complex of southeastern Nevada. The area has a resource of 2.6 million tons at 1.3 g/t gold and 14 g/t silver within an area of gold mineralization with a strike length of at least 6,450 feet.
