Satellite solutions provider Norsat International (TSX: NII, OTCBB: NSATF) said it has landed several new sales contract totalling C$3.9 million including orders for vertical markets like maritime communications, broadcasting and homeland security.

The company, which manufactures satellite ground equipment for high-speed transmission of data, audio and video over commercial and military satellites, said half of the sales deals came from the US, while a fifth was from the Asia-Pacific region with the rest coming from Europe and Scandinavia.

“While the U.S. Military continues to be a cornerstone customer for Norsat, we have been able to attract other militaries around the globe to take notice of our products. We are also pleased that other markets for our products are gaining traction, also on a global basis, with orders from customers in India and China for broadcasting purposes and Italy for maritime communications.
