Duluth Metals Ltd (TSX: DM) said step-out drilling 900 meters southwest of the currently defined Nokomis deposit in Minnesota returned encouraging mineralisation, supporting the group’s belief that the deposit has the potential to be substantially increased.
Hole MEX-155-W1 was drilled in an area of four historic drill holes referred to as Nickel Ridge, and returned 45 feet mineralisation at 0.624 percent copper and 0.21 percent nickel at an 0.3 percent copper cut-off rate. It intersected 30 feet at 0.705 percent Co and 0.226 percent Ni at an 0.5 percent cut-off.
Assay results from MEX-155-W1 and the four historic holes confirm a substantial extension of significant mineralization towards the Nickel Ridge area with good copper values and above average nickel grades beyond the current resource boundaries of the Nokomis deposit.
MEX-155-W1 and the four historic holes will be included in the new NI 43-101 Resource Study currently being undertaken.
"This latest step-out drilling continues to confirm Duluth Metals' belief in the continuity of the Nokomis mineralization,” said Henry J. Sandri, president and CEO of Duluth Metals.
To date, only about one-half of the Nokomis property has been drilled, and all 155 holes drilled to target depth have intercepted mineralization at varying intervals and grades, he added.
