Freelancer (ASX:FLNASX:FLN has received two nominations for the 19th Annual Webby Awards as it passed the 15 million registered users mark.
The nominations are for Best Employment Website and Best Professional Services Website by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences.
The Webby Awards is the leading international award honouring excellence on the Internet, similar to the Grammy, Oscar and Emmy Awards for music, film and television.
It is presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) - a 1,000+ member judging body.
The Executive Academy is comprised of luminaries such as actor Kevin Spacey, musician David Bowie, Internet inventor Vint Cerf, President & Editor-in-Chief of AOL Huffington Post Media Group Arianna Huffington, Twitter Founder Biz Stone, Vice Media Founder and CEO, Shane Smith and Tumblr’s David Karp and The Weinstein Company Co-Founder Harvey Weinstein.
Members also include writers and editors from publications such as The New York Times, Wired, Details, Fast Company, Elle, The Los Angeles Times, Vibe, and WallPaper.
Freelancer is a four-time Webby award-winner, having won in the 2011, 2012 and 2013 award ceremonies.
The 18th Annual Webby Awards received 12,000 entries from over 60 countries and all 50 states and generated over 2.2 billion media impressions worldwide.
