African Eagle shares up as Clarke and Karim appointed

African Eagle Resources (LON:AFE) shares rose as it said Nick Clarke and Kola Karim have now been appointed to the board with immediate effect.

Clarke is the chief executive, while Karim has been appointed as non-exec chairman.

It follows the announcement of April 9 this year of the proposed appointment to the board of the pair and the resignations of directors Julian McIntyre, Venkat Siva, Mark Thompson and Paul Colucci.

The firm also announced today that Robert McLearon, currently managing director, will step down and become finance director with immediate effect.

Karim is the CEO and controlling shareholder of Shoreline Energy International, a Nigerian conglomerate with interests that span oil and gas, power, engineering and construction across sub-Saharan Africa.

Clarke graduated from the Camborne School of Mines graduating with a BSc (Hons) in mining.

Shares rose over 18% to 0.32p.
