EMED Mining rejects media report of delay at Rio Tinto project

EMED Mining (LON:EMED) said the licensing process for the re-start of the Rio Tinto copper project in Spain remains on track, rejecting a local media report on Wednesday that there was a three-month delay.

The company said it continues to work co-operatively on the licensing process with the Junta de Andalucia.

Last month, EMED said the Ministry of Environment and Land Planning of the Government of Andalusia had issued a compatibility report regarding the reopening of the mine that stated that there were no inconsistencies in any environmental aspects of the project.
