Forte Energy expects JORC estimate for Firawa uranium prospect in Guinea soon

Forte Energy NL said it expects to issue shortly an initial JORC compliant resource estimate for the Firawa uranium prospect, the most advanced of its three uranium exploration projects in Guinea, as it reported results for the six months to December 31 2008.
The company continues to aggressively progress its uranium exploration projects in Mauritania and Guinea, evaluate new energy-related asset opportunities and pursue programmes to add value to its Australian copper project interests in Cloncurry, Queensland and Maroochydore, Western Australia, it said.
Revenue rose slightly to A$199,000 from A$ 193,800 in the previous first half, while pretax loss for the period widened to A$984,500 from A$628,900, mainly due to higher administration expenses.
In Mauritania, work on detailed geophysical ground surveys begun in February 2009 at Bir En Nar and at two locations near Bir Moghrein. Results from these surveys will help to guide a core drilling programme to be completed during 2009 aimed at delineating a substantial uranium resource.
