InterQuest Group warns of tough 2009
IT staffing specialist InterQuest Group said it expects an 18 percent rise in profit and 20 percent higher revenue in the full year 2008 compared to the previous year, but warned that 2009 is likely to be the most difficult year the group has faced.
It expects gross profits for the year to end-December 2008 to rise to more than £15. 2 million from 12.9 million and revenue to rise above £104 million from 2007’s 86.7 million.
It a trading update, InterQuest said all acquisitions have successfully been integrated.
Contractor numbers in the year ranged from 1,020 to 1,090 with the group ending the year with 1,050 contractors. This has remained steady into January giving the board reasonable visibility for 2009.
However, permanent placement levels have fallen significantly during the last quarter of the year leading to lower visibility for 2009, it added.
