Xenetic Biosciences reports slight delay in completing German acquisition
Shares in biopharmaceutical firm Xenetic Biosciences (LON:XEN) said completion of the acquisition of German firm SymbioTec has been delayed again, but should occur soon.
The deal to buy the business, a developer of technology that uses highly-alkaline proteins to treat a broad spectrum of cancers, was announced in August and was initially supposed to close in October.
It was then put back to today, December 15.
“Whilst the parties continue to work towards a conclusion … it has not been possible to satisfactorily conclude the process in the expected timeframe. The parties now expect to make a further announcement in relation to the acquisition by no later than December 31 2011,” Xenetic said today.
