Elementos uncovers depth potential of Divisoria prospect at Santa Domingo in Argentina

Elementos (ASX: ELT) has identified a large potential zone of sulphide mineralisation, suggesting porphyry mineralisation at depth, in a second phase geophysical program at the Divisoria prospect in the Santo Domingo project in Argentina.

The anomaly is 1,000 by 600 metres in size and interpreted as about 300 metres deep. It remains open to the north, south and to depth.

Importantly, the results of the geophysical program achieved the objective of identifying anomalies at depth and suggest a vertical extension of the mapped porphyry-style mineralisation over a larger area than occurs at surface.

The second phase geophysical program incorporated four lines, totalling 7.5 linear-kilometres, of both Pole-Dipole Induced Polarisation and Audio Magneto Telluric geophysics.

The Audio Magneto Telluric survey aimed to test for evidence of mineralisation down to around 800 metres depth, beneath the lower limit of the Pole-Dipole Induced Polarisation.

Line 1 successfully showed a strong low resistivity anomaly interpreted as occurring between 600 and 750 metres depth.

Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties with the equipment, lines 2, 3 and 4 produced poor quality data lacking resolution and were considered unreliable by the consultant geophysicist.

Elementos is currently incorporating these results with the existing mapping, geochemical and geophysical data from Divisoria and Yvette to produce a model of the total mineralised system for future exploration.

The Santo Domingo project is located in the highly prospective San Juan Province, host to large mines such as Barrick Gold's (NYSE: ABX) 12 million gold ounce Veladero, Yamana Gold’s (NYSE: AUY) 2.9 million gold ounce Gualcamayo, and Antofagasta's (LON: ANTO) 69.9 billion pound copper Los Pelambres mine.

In January, Elementos reported that it had extended the high grade gold structure at the Yvette prospect following infill sampling.

Trenching on the Yvette Norte gold silver trend has indicated the presence of a new parallel, high grade gold silver structure under talus cover.

Infill sampling was carried out over a 700 metre long segment, and returned high grade gold and silver results along with lead, zinc and copper, including 1 metre at 20.8 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 82g/t silver, and 0.5 metres at 46.2g/t gold and 541g/t silver.

With a strong spatial relationship between the Yvette structural system and the Divisoria porphyry environment at surface, Elementos has increased the potential size of the combined mineralised systems.
