Goldrush Resources confirms gold mineralization at new North Zone on Ronguen

25th May 2011, 8:39 pm by Deborah Sterescu

Goldrush Resources (CVE:GOD) reported Wednesday drill results from an additional seven holes at its Ronguen gold deposit in Burkina Faso, West Africa, confirming gold mineralization in areas of the new North Zone that had little prior drilling.

Highlights of the reverse circulation drilling include 2.60 g/t gold over 12 metres in hole KGRR011-129; and 1.93 g/t gold over 12 metres in hole KGRR011-123.

Grades in the mineralized interval In hole 129 ranged from 0.4 g/t to 6.03 g/t gold, while grades ranged from 0.74 g/t to 4.11 g/t gold in hole 123.

Other notable results included 1.31 g/t gold over 15 metres in hole KGRR011-122; and 1.14 g/t gold over 14 metres, 1.04 g/t gold over 12 metres and 2.29 g/t gold over 7 metres in hole KGRR011-124.

The company said the results from the North Zone gold mineralization will be used to upgrade the 2011 resource estimate at Ronguen, which currently hosts 249,000 inferred ounces of gold.

Goldrush also said that because of significant delays at the testing lab, the company is still awaiting reverse circulation drill results from an additional seven holes drilled on the same grid, as well as a number of holes completed on other target areas on the two permits that host the Ronguen deposit.

The drilling is part of the company's ongoing 10,000 metre program at the project. An additional 10,000 metres of reverse circulation drilling, and a further 8,000 metres of core drilling, is planned for the third quarter.
