National Milk Records (LON:NMRP), the PLUS-quoted supplier of dairy and livestock services, has announced that its finance director, Chris Hughes, has resigned his position. The firm said that it has appointed a consultant to assist it in finding a replacement for Hughes but that, in the meantime, the day-to-day financial control of the business will be undertaken by existing in-house staff.
The company is a dairy data supplier that operates through three divisions: National Milk Records, which is at the core of the business and provides management information to farmers regarding individual cow performance in terms of milk quality, yield and fertility; National Milk Laboratories, an independent milk testing division for milk buyers; and National Livestock Records, which provides support to the red meat industry, especially with regards to the growing requirement for traceability in this sector.
In July this year, the firm reported a profit before tax and interest of £387,000 for the year to March 31, compared with £504,000 in 2010 on revenues of £16.8 million (2010: £15.9 million). It also announced a maiden dividend to underline its confidence about prospects.
