Camino Minerals finds new targets at Rodeo gold project
Camino Minerals (CVE:COR) said Monday that it has identified new drill targets at its Rodeo gold project in Durango State, Mexico.
The company recently completed an induced polarization survey at the site, which identified a number of anomalous chargeability trends that had never been drill tested, representing new discovery potential. Camino plans on testing these new targets in the second quarter through a diamond drill program.
The results from the IP survey, along with the mapping program carried out by Camino earlier this year, indicate that veins and breccias extends over a strike length of more than five kilometres, the company said.
Previous owner Canplats Resources, from which Camino was formed following Goldcorp's acquisition of Canplats, drilled a total of 3,449 metres at Rodeo from 2004 to 2007, which only tested roughly 600 metres of the 5km-long epithermal system.
Drilling by Canplats confirmed the presence of near-surface gold mineralization, including hole BR-06, which intersected 5.5 g/t gold and 12.5 g/t silver over 28 metres, including 35.6 g/t gold and 37.0 g/t silver over one metre.
Rodeo covers 13,099 hectares and is located 160 kilometres north of the city of Durango.
