Exploration activities in Cadillac's property portfolio range from the grass roots stage to resource development projects and are not limited by geographical boundaries. The company holds the right to earn up to 90% interest on 14 separate properties within the prolific Iberian Pyrite Belt of southern Spain and two advanced Canadian projects; the New Alger property which is a gold project in Quebec and Burnt Hill, a tungsten project in New Brunswick.
Cadillac Ventures expands mineralization at Thierry mine project
Cadillac Ventures (CVE:CDC) said Wednesday that further diamond drilling at the Thierry mine project in Pickle Lake, Ontario has extended the mineralized zone further to the west.
Today, the company reported observations from the first three holes of the shallow drilling portion of the program, which began in January. Cadillac said that once assay results are received, another series of holes will be designed to overcut the intersections from the first three holes.
According to the company, hole CV-11-10 intersected the western extension of the copper mineralized zone at a depth of 700 feet.
In addition to the holes drilled to test the western edge of the mineralized horizon, the company initiated a second phase of the overall program to extend the mineralization further to the east. Cadillac plans to continue drilling further step out holes eastward of the mineralized envelope boundary.
The company also said that it has mobilized a deep drilling rig to the site, with which three holes have already intersected mineralization at depth. A further three holes are planned as part of this program – due to begin as soon as possible.
The Thierry property encompasses the past producing Thierry Mine, which ceased production in 1982, leaving potentially economic mineralization in situ.
Aside from the Thierry mine project, Cadillac owns the New Alger project, a previously productive gold mine located outside of Cadillac, Quebec, where the company has entered into a joint venture agreement with Renforth Resources for a three-year $2.5 million exploration program.
In Spain, the company is partnered with Minas de Aguas Tenidas, S.A.U. regarding the exploration of 12 different investigation licenses surrounding the Aguas Tenidas Mine in the Iberian Pyrite Belt.
