Everton Resources and Brigus Gold announce positive results from Ampliacion project
Everton Resources (TSX-V:EVR)(FSX: ERV) and its partner Brigus Gold (TSX, NYSE Amex: BRD) announced Wednesday the latest positive results from the La Lechoza prospect on the Ampliacion Pueblo Viejo property in the Dominican Republic.
Highlights from the volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) La Lechoza prospect include 0.34g/t Au, 7.69 g/t Ag, 0.45% Cu and 0.26% Zn over 33.0 metres in hole APV11-01; 2.46g/t Au, 26.73 g/t Ag over 27.00 metres in hole APV11-02; and 2.89 g/t Au, 28.58 g/t Ag over 17.5 metres in hole APV11-04.
VMS is a type of metal sulfide ore deposit, which occurs within environments dominated by volcanic or volcanic derived rocks. They represent a significant source of the world's copper zinc, lead, gold and silver ores.
"The ongoing drill program continues to confirm the mineralization discovered at La Lechoza, and points towards new and significant targets defined on the basis of geological, geochemical and geophysical surveys completed in the previous years," said president and CEO Andre Audet.
The Ampliacion Pueblo Viejo property is located adjacent to the US$3 billion Pueblo Viejo gold deposit, currently being developed by Barrick Gold (NYSE, TSX:ABX) and Goldcorp (NYSE:GG, TSX:G), in the central part of the Dominican.
Everton plans on selling its subsidiary Hays Lake Gold, which contains the Shoal Lake gold project in Kenora, Ontario, to raise capital to advance the Ampliacion project with Brigus. The company rallied more than 5% on Wednesday, to trade at $0.3 as of 11:30am EST.
