Rock Tech Lithium Inc. (TSX-Venture: RCK | Frankfurt: RJIA) is a Canadian based resource company focused on acquiring, exploring and developing high-quality lithium and rare metals properties.
The Company’s strategy is to acquire and develop lithium properties that are at various stages of development — from early-stage exploration projects to advanced-stage exploration projects that have been the subject of prior work programs and/or contain historic resources that can be brought to NI43-101 standards and positioned for production within a reasonable timeframe.
Rock Tech Lithium says drilling at Georgia Lake property on track
Rock Tech Lithium (TSX-V: RCK; FSX: RJIA) said Tuesday that its drill program at its Georgia Lake property in northwest Ontario is progressing as scheduled.
Drilling was restarted after Christmas break on January 9. To date, a total of 11 holes have been drilled for 1,268 metres, of which three were completed before the break.
The company said that a second drill rig has been mobilized to the site to expedite drilling, which will be followed by a NI 43-101 compliant resource estimate in June. Rock Tech also said it is on target to complete 4,000 metres of diamond core drilling by the end of the month.
The company plans that bulk sample will be collected in the second week of February to test for the production of battery-quality lithium carbonate by the end of May this year.
In addition, the results of the environmental baseline study will be available by mid-February, Rock Tech said, and further environmental field work will be conducted in the spring.
"Most of the drill holes at Nama Creek and Conway [deposits at the project] were placed within close proximity of bearing pegmatite zones that were intersected in historical drill holes," said president and CEO Eunho Lee.
"We are very encouraged by the drill log data provided by CCIC as they confirm the historical drill core data from these areas. Pegmatite zone ranges in thickness from 2.85 metres to 21.08 metres, with spodumene content of <3% to 15%."
Spodumene is the world's most commonly mined lithium ore mineral. Canada-based Rock Tech explores and develop lithium mineral deposits and develops processes to purify lithium carbonate.
Aside from Georgia Lake, the company has lithium properties in the Kapiwak Pegmatite Region in the James Bay area of north western Quebec. It also has a 100% interest in a titanium-iron-vanadium property in Saint-Urbain in eastern Quebec, and a nickel-copper-platinum group elements, uranium property in the Sibley Basin area.
