Westminster Group secures distribution rights for ID fraud detection software in UK and Middle East

31st Jan 2011, 10:38 am Westminster expects the ID fraud protection product to be popular with national security agencies across the Middle East in particular

Westminster Group PLC (LON:WSG) said it has secured distribution rights in the UK and the Middle East for the identity fraud detection software of Texas-based Infoglide Software.

The commercial details of the deal were not disclosed. Westminster expects the product to be popular with national security agencies across the Middle East in particular.

Infoglide's identity resolution technology searches, matches and links entities across multiple, disparate data sources using over 50 algorithms. It resolves identities from multiple records and uncovers links between entities despite variations and errors in data as well as intentional efforts to manipulate data to avoid detection.  The software draws attention to misrepresented identities, suspicious relationships and criminal connections.

Markets for these products include banking, transport & travel, government, law enforcement and insurance, where it is used primarily for detection of fraud, risk, and criminal activities.

Most notably, the group added, the software has secured praise for its success in identifying & minimising passenger screening risks faced by the US Transport Security Administration which is responsible for the safety of all US domestic flights.

Other applications include financial fraud detection, anti-money laundering, insurance fraud detection, insider trading detection, retail fraud detection, lottery fraud detection and compliance.

Westminster's principal activity is the design, supply and ongoing support of advanced technology security solutions, risk assessments and close protection services.  It serves the security, defence, fire protection and safety markets worldwide.

Services can range from product only assignments, such as the supply of specialised scanners, to the design and implementation of an integrated system solution such as a border detection and surveillance system. The majority of Westminster’s customer base, by value, comprises governments and government agencies, non-governmental organisations and blue chip commercial organisations.
