Knick is engaged in exploring its flagship East-West property, located in the Val-d’Or Mining Camp along strike between the active Kiena mine (Wesdome Mining Ltd., TSX–WDO) and past gold producer Marban mine (Niogold Mining Corp., TSX.V-NOX). Most historical drilling has been limited to “shallow holes”, generally less than 200 m, and the Company is very excited about the property’s “blue sky” potential at mid-depth plus. A $1.1 million budget has been allocated for the 2009 exploration program on the East-West property.
Knick Exploration identifies new gold targets for 2011 drilling campaign at East-West property in Quebec
Knick Exploration (TSX-V:KNX) said Thursday that preliminary 3D geological modeling at its East-West property in Val d'Or, Quebec has uncovered new gold drill targets.
According to Knick, four distinct settings with significant gold mineralization have been identified. "The junctions of structures related to these settings are considered to be high potential-prime drill targets," the company said in a statement.
The latest 3D modeling, along with recent surface gold discoveries and the hole-to-hole 3D geophysical survey, are being used to prioritize and select targets for the 2011 winter drill program.
Located at the heart of Quebec's Abitibi Gold District, approximately 11 km west of the town of Val-d'Or, the East-West gold property lies east of Osisko Mining's Canadian Malartic mine site.
