Strathmore is one of the largest holders of in-ground uranium resources in the United States. The Company's goal is to become a leading uranium producer in the United States. Its advanced projects are located in the two largest historical uranium producing regions: the Grants Mineral District in New Mexico and the Gas Hills Uranium District in Wyoming.
Strathmore Minerals to move up to TSX on Monday
Uranium exploration and development junior Strathmore Minerals (TSX-V:STM, OTCQX:STHJF) is set to move up to the TSX on Monday, January 10th.
The Vancouver headquartered, US focused company will retain its current trading symbol "STM".
"We are proud to be listed on the TSX, which is the premier global exchange for the mining industry,” Strathmore's CEO, David Miller commented.
“Strathmore's graduation to a full TSX listing not only represents an important milestone for the Company, but also demonstrates the commitment and progress made by our team to advance our uranium projects, particularly the Roca Honda property, which we believe is one of the best and highest grade undeveloped uranium deposits in the United States."
The Roca Honda Uranium Project is a joint venture between Strathmore (60%) and Sumitomo (40%), located in McKinley County, in the Grants Mineral Belt of North West New Mexico.
The property is around 16 miles northeast of Grants, and 23 miles away from Milan, New Mexico, via the New Mexico Highway 605.
In addition to this paved highway, ranch and dirt roads offer access across the property, although because of disuse, most of these require 4-wheel drive at the moment, and will need some maintenance going forward.
The project is seen as a “company maker” by Strathmore, suggesting it has the potential to be “one of the largest and highest grade proposed uranium mines in US in over 30 years”. The property totals 1,840 acres and consists of 63 unpatented mining claims totalling approximately 1,200 acres, and an adjoining New Mexico State General Mining lease totalling 640 acres.
