Clifton Star Resources hires consulting metallurgist for Duparquet project in Quebec
Clifton Star Resources (TSX-V:CFO)(FSX:C3T) said Wednesday it has hired Dr. David Dreisinger as a consulting metallurgist for the company's projects.
Dr. Dreisinger is currently the Professor and Chairholder, Industrial Research Chair in hydrometallurgy at the University of British Columbia, where he leads a team of staff and students in research and development related to base and precious metal recovery.
He has co-invented and developed a number of recovery processes including the Mt. Gordon Copper process, the Sepon Copper process, the Balco process (to be applied at Baja Mining's Bolco project in Baja), and others.
In his new role, Dr. Dreisinger will review available information on the processing of ore and tailing related to the Duparquet Gold project in southwestern Quebec, and then report his findings to the company's board of directors.
Once the review is completed, Dr. Dreisinger will work with the company's team to develop a targeted program for the extraction of gold at the Duparquet properties.
As part of his compensation for taking on the role, Clifton Star has given Dr. Dreisinger a 50,000 stock option at $5.00 for a period of three years.
The joint venture Duparquet project that was signed in December last year comprises the Central Duparquet, Duquesne, Beattie, Donchester and Dumico properties.
Aside from this project, Clifton also owns the Cat Lake property, which comprises nine mining leases totaling 238 hectares in the Lac Dubonnet Mining District northeast of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
