Cadillac Ventures completes third hole at Thierry Mine project in Ontario
Cadillac Ventures (TSX-V:CDC) said Tuesday that it has completed the third hole at its Thierry Mine project in northwestern Ontario, encountering mineralization in five areas of the hole.
Types of mineralization from the areas included po, cpy, sulphide and magnetite in mafic and ultramafic rocks, as well as granite brecias and iron formation. A total of 96 samples were selected from the hole and were submitted for testing.
The drill program at the property is currently on hold for the holiday break, but work will resume on the project in the new year, with assays expected early in 2011, the company said.
The Thierry property encompasses the past producing Thierry Mine which ceased production in 1982, leaving potentially economic mineralization in situ.
In addition to the Thierry mine project, Cadillac also has interests in the New Alger project, a previously productive gold mine, located outside of Cadillac, Quebec, and the Burnt Hill project, a tungsten tin project outside of Fredericton, New Brunswick.
In Spain, the company is joint venture partner with Minas de Aguas Tenidas, S.A.U. regarding the exploration of 12 different investigation licenses surrounding the Aguas Tenidas Mine in the Iberian Pyrite Belt.
