Greenscape Capital increases the environmental sustainability and social responsibility of our built environment through the development of sustainable facilities and the energy retrofitting of existing commercial facilities.  Greenscape offers a particular focus to the parking industry.

In November, 2010, Greenscape completed the building of the world's greenest parking facility, servicing the Denver International Airport, with operating partner Propark America. This industry-transforming development has been certified as a Demonstrator Site for the Green Parking Council and will serve as a model from which new and environmentally responsible parking facilities will be built in addition to the retrofitting of existing facilities throughout North America.

Greenscape's Denver parking facility has 70% projected cost savings, according to independent study

1st Dec 2010, 9:04 am

Environmental consultancy firm Greenscape Capital Group (TSX-V: GRN) said Tuesday that a report by Colorado-based Architectural Energy Corp concluded that Greenscape's Canopy Airport Parking, the 4,200 stall green parking facility for the Denver International Airport, has 70% projected cost savings versus baseline.

When completing the analysis, AEC compared Canopy to a baseline model facility, which had none of the efficiency components built into Canopy.  Greenscape said the building envelope, occupancy schedule, internal heating systems, wind, solar, geothermal, and mechanical systems were all evaluated as part of the study.

According to the report, the 70% total cost savings resulted from wall and roof insulation, mechanical system types, ground loop heat pumps that have an energy recovery system,  and solar and wind energy sources, among other factors.

"The study by AEC shows that making more responsible environmental decisions when constructing these facilities not only provides good marketing opportunities but also can provide very significant bottom line performance via cost savings," said Greenscape CEO Bryan Slusarchuk.
