Stellar Resources (ASX: SRZ) holds two priority advanced resource projects - a major magnetite project located in South Australia and a high grade tin deposit in Tasmania - as well as a number of exploration properties targeting copper, gold, uranium and nickel.
The company's aim is to develop a minimum 5 million tonne per annum magnetite operation based on the completion of a successful feasibility study at Tarcoola iron ore project in central South Australia.
Stellar Resources raises $2.1 million to advance Heemskirk Tin program
Stellar Resources (ASX: SRZ) has placed 14,000,000 shares at $0.15 per share to raise $2.1 million to accelerate exploration and development of its Heemskirk tin project in Tasmania.
Heemskirk drilling is to commence early in the New Year in conjunction with drilling at the Gourlays tin‐copper prospect. The company's cash position has now increased to A$3.5 million.
The placement was substantially oversubscribed, which clearly shows the market’s confidence in the Heemskirk tin project.
Taylor Collision Limited acted as Lead Manager to the placement.
The announcement effectively lifts the trading halt that the company requested on 26 November 2010.
Stellar holds a 60% interest in the Heemskirk Project with joint venture partner Gippsland (ASX: GIP) and can increase its holding to 70% by completing a feasibility study.
Stellar is set to resume tin exploration drilling at the wholly owned Gourlays tin/copper prospect, once logistics and access approvals are secured.
Gourlays is located 35kms and within trucking distance from Stellar’s Heemskirk Project, where drilling to extend the resource was undertaken earlier in 2010.
