Rock Tech Lithium appoints new board of director
Rock Tech Lithium (TSX-V: RCK) (FSX: RJIA) (OTC Pink Sheets: RCKTFF) said Friday it has appointed Dr Christian Schlag to its board of directors, effective immediately.
Dr. Schlag has served as the senior exploration geologist for Goldfields South Africa, as the economic research officer of the Geological Survey of SW Africa, as a senior lecturer at University of Calaber, and as a consultant to the Indonesian Ministry of Mines and Energy and United Nations Industrial Development Projects, among other positions.
He also has experience as an independent consultant on exploration projects for rare earth metals, uranium, gold, diamonds and heavy minerals throughout Africa and Asia, and was key to the discovery of the Marenica uranium project in northern Namibia.
"Dr. Schlag will play a significant and active role as an Advisor to Afzaal Pirzada, Vice President of Exploration in the exploration and development program that has commenced at Georgia Lake," said president and CEO Eunho Lee.
Canada-based Rock Tech holds a 100% interest in the Georgia Lake lithium project, located in the Thunder Bay Mining District of northwest Ontario, an advanced stage exploration project that contains a historic resource estimate of 9.8 million tons, with grades of 1.18% lithium oxide.
The Georgia Lake lithium property consists of four claim blocks covering 11,481 hectares. An exploration drill program, with the objective of bringing the historic resource to NI43-101 standards, is currently underway, the company said.
In addition to this property, Rock Tech also owns an early stage lithium project in the Kapiwak Pegmatite region of the James Bay area of Quebec, which covers 6,400 hectares.
