Exco Resources hits significant near surface copper at Turpentine South
A significant near surface copper mineralisation has been identified through reverse circulation drilling by Exco Resources (ASX: EXS) at the Turpentine South prospect, located in north west Queensland.
Drill highlights at Turpentine South include:
- 6m at 1.51% copper & 0.11 g/t gold from 66m depth; and
- 24m at 1.52% copper & 0.45 g/t gold from 150m depth, including 6m at 4.97% copper & 1.46 g/t gold.
Exco said the prospectivity of the target zones are confirmed at the Turpentine Deposit discovery on a trend to the north, with very thin cover masking the surface expression of mineralisation in the area.
At the Salebury prospect, Exco re-sampling of a reverse circulation hole at 2m intervals confirmed high grade mineralisation previously reported from 6m, with composite assay highlights including:
- 20m at 2.07% copper & 1.53 g/t gold with 873 ppm cobalt from 32m depth, including 12m at 3.17% copper & 2.38 g/t gold with 1334 ppm cobalt from 32-44m.
Last month, UK Broker Fox Davies reiterated its BUY on Exco Resources, with a $0.85 target price.
Exco shares last traded at $0.585.
