Cadillac Ventures intersects 7.38% Zn over 2.6m at San Platon in Spain
Cadillac Ventures (TSX-V:CDC) has announced Thursday results from the second hole in the ongoing drill program at the San Platon project in Spain, which include intersections of 7.38% Zinc over 2.6 metres.
The project is located on the Buitrera Investigation Permit, in proximity to Iberian Minerals' Aguas Tenidas Mine, and outside the town of Almonaster in Huelva Province, Andalucia.
Hole SP 10-02 intersected 2.6 metres at 7.38% Zn, 0.07% Cu, 2.01% Pb, 31.60% S and 64.85 Ag ppm and 0.64 Au ppm, including 2.0 metres at 8.39% Zn.
The first hole drilled at San Platon by the company included results of 5.49% Cu over 2 metres, as historically, the massive sulphide deposit was mined for copper between 1906 and 1934, producing 900,000 mt of ore.
However, the company said that high grade zinc, lead and silver were sampled from dumps on the property containing material from the time the mine was in operation. Though zinc rich ore was not the focus of the mine at that time, and it was only mined to arrive to the copper ore.
Cadillac said that more holes are being planned to the west and east of the second hole in order to test the extensions of the zinc-rich mineralization.
In Spain, the company is a joint venture partner with Minas de Aguas Tenidas S.A.U., for the exploration of 12 different investigation licenses surrounding the Aguas Tenidas Mine.
Cadillac also owns the past-producing Thierry Property near Pickle Lake in Northern Ontario, and the Burnt Hill project in New Brunswick, along with the New Alger project outside Cadillac, Quebec.
The company jumped more than 4% on Thursday, trading at $0.24 moments to market close.
