African Energy (ASX:AFR) owns 100% of the Sese Coal and Power Project in northerm Botswana which has a defined near-surface coal deposit containing indicated resources in excess of 2.5 billion tonnes. The entire resource is amenable to low-cost open pit mining and can produce large tonnages of both domestic power station fuel amd washed coal for regional and export sales.
African Energy Resources to place A$1.44m to fund drilling at Sese
A private placement to raise up to A$1.44 million with be offered at $0.15 a share by African Energy Resources (ASX: AFR), to fund the resource delineation drilling program at the Sese coal project in Botswana, which began this week.
The placement amount represents the residual amount available under listing rule 7.1 allowing up to 15% of its issued capital to be raised without requiring prior shareholder approval.
African Energy has an exploration target of 1.0 to 1.5 billion tonnes of 4,000kcal/kg to 5,000kcal/kg thermal coal.
The project is situated close to the sealed highway between Francistown and Gaborone and is easily accessible. Rail, road and power infrastructure is close to the project area.
