Knick is engaged in exploring its flagship East-West property, located in the Val-d’Or Mining Camp along strike between the active Kiena mine (Wesdome Mining Ltd., TSX–WDO) and past gold producer Marban mine (Niogold Mining Corp., TSX.V-NOX). Most historical drilling has been limited to “shallow holes”, generally less than 200 m, and the Company is very excited about the property’s “blue sky” potential at mid-depth plus. A $1.1 million budget has been allocated for the 2009 exploration program on the East-West property.

Knick Exploration discovers new gold zone on East-West property in Quebec

15th Oct 2010, 10:59 am

Quebec-based Knick Exploration (TSX-V: KNX) has discovered a new gold zone on its flagship East-West property in the Val-d’Or Mining Camp, which was exposed by mechanical stripping, it said Thursday.

The new zone, called the Gilbert Gold Zone, is located 125m south of and is sub-parallel to the Raven Gold Zone.

The Gilbert Gold Zone has been traced for 21m, is open along strike and has not been drill tested yet, the company said.

A total of 29 channel samples were taken on the zone, and some results include 16.97g/t over 1.98m, including 41.8g/t over 0.50m and 17.8g/t over 0.70m, 15.2g/t over 0.97m, 5.6g/t over 0.60m and 3.0g/t over 1.00m.

"The Gilbert Gold Zone is now part of a series of interesting drill targets that have been developed lately. Amazing values continue to be found on both surface and in recent drilling on this well located property," said president and CEO Jacques Brunelle.

Currently, assay results are still pending from the 2010 mechanical stripping program.

The East-West property is located in the Val-d’Or Mining Camp along strike between the active Kiena mine and past gold producer, the Marban mine.

Headquartered in Val-d'Or, Quebec, Knick Exploration is looking for new gold deposits in the Abitibi Gold District.
