BioNeutral develops new line of anti-bacterial products for industrial purposes
BioNeutral Group (OTCBB:BONU) said it has developed a new antimicrobial technology platform that kills bacteria quickly and efficiently, designed specifically for industrial uses.
The new platform expands BioNeutral's product offering and footprint in the industrial manufacturing sector, especially where hydrocarbons and hydrocarbon emulsions are used in metal forming, grinding, and the treatment and specialty petrochemical industries, the company said.
"Our original Ygiene antimicrobials are water based and as such are not readily compatible with hydrocarbon systems. In contrast, our new antimicrobials are miscible with oil type materials," said chief scientist for BioNeutral, Dr. Andy Kielbania.
This means that bacterial growth in industrial oil-based products could be controlled, creating the potential to reduce production down time and eliminate industrial hygiene issues in the work environment.
Testing of the new products show that there was zero concentration of harmful bacteria as quickly as one minute after application, for as long as five days after initial antimicrobial treatment.
According to the company, the products could also be of use in a wide variety of plastics, such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester and polyvinyl chloride.
BioNeutral's existing products, Ygiene and Ogiene, kill germs and clean surfaces and have been proven effective in surface, water and airborne applications. The Ygiene brand products have been submitted to the EPA for approval for sale in the United States and have already been approved in Germany, the UK, France and Sweden.
