Pro Minerals confirm intention to drill at Shining Tree Gold Project
Junior exploration outfit Pro Minerals (TSX-V:PRM) confirmed its intention to undertake drilling at the Shining Tree Gold Project, which is located within the Abitibi Greenstone belt that stretches through Ontario and Quebec.
The 71 hectare property was recently the subject of a first pass exploration campaign (geophysical surveys, sampling, mapping), which after interpretation by geological consultants, has generated a number of drill ready targets.
Pro Minerals did not specify how much drilling would be completed, but did state that initially focus on a 300 meter section of the Beilby Creek Target, to assess the nature and structure of shear zones, quartz vein zones and associated wall rock alteration.
The start date of the drill campaign is dependent on the completion date of a financing to raise up to CDN$1 million.
“None of the identified targets on Pro Minerals claims have ever been drilled and surface mapping indicates that drilling rather than trenching is considered the best means to test these targets,” Pro Minerals stated today.
The Shining Tree Gold Project sit within the wider Shining Tree Camp, which is part of the Larder Lake Mining District in north-eastern Ontario. The project consists of five claim units, and is equal distance from Timmins, Kirkland Lake and Sudbury.
The Shining Tree Camp has been the subject of much exploration activity in the past, after the area was opened up to staking in the 1990’s.
