Lucyd Pte Ltd is currently developing ergonomic smartglasses, blockchain apps and an eyewear e-shop to enhance a user's visual experience.
The group said Avila is an experienced marketing professional with expertise in social media management, market research, and market segmentation. Previously, she served as U.S. Digital Manager at For Eyes by Grandvision, and Marketing Manager at GA Telesis.
Tekcapital added that Avila will orchestrate the launch and operation of Lucyd's eyewear e-shop, which is planned to open in late June 2018.
Elsewhere, the firm said another of its 100% owned portfolio companies, Salarius Ltd, had appointed Eduardo Souchon and Steve McCready to its board of directors.
Salarius is the developer of Microsalt, a low-sodium salt product comprised of nanoparticle edible salt crystals.
Tekcapital said Souchon is a business, brand and marketing executive with two decades of experience in taking businesses focused on snacks (Pringles), health products and office supplies to commercial success in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry and the retail industry.
The company added that he also had significant end-to-end experience in brand building, innovation, and strategy gained from Procter and Gamble and Office Depot.
The firm also said that McCready has 18 years of innovation-focused product development experience in multiple product categories, with expertise in process development, scaling, and commercialisation.
Recently, he served as director of product development at Albertson's Companies, Inc., a U.S. supermarket company with more than $60bn in sales and 2,300 locations. Previously, McCready held positions as a research scientist at White Wave and ConAgra Foods and was product development project leader at the Nestlé Ice Cream Company.
Clifford Gross, Tekcapital chief executive and a director at Salarius, said: "We are excited to have Ms. Avila join the Lucyd team. Her significant and relevant eyeglass industry expertise should help expand Lucyd's global footprint."
He added: "We are very excited to add Eduardo and Steve to Salarius' Board of directors, and we look forward to creating market value from Salarius' patented technology. Together we plan to explore the possible development and launch of Neosnax, a new, healthy choice snack food brand that has all of the flavour and roughly half the sodium of most currently available snack foods."
