BT Group plc (LON:BT.A) is merging its enterprise businesses in the UK and Ireland as part of a wider restructuring plan.
The telecoms giant will create a new division called BT Enterprise that will bring together the business, public sector, wholesale and ventures units.
BT said the move would help accelerate its transformation by simplifying its operations and allowing it to focus on improving its customer offering.
The new business unit will provide products and services to small-to-medium sized enterprises, corporate and public sectors, as well as wholesale services to about 1,400 communication providers in the UK and Ireland.

Gerry McQuade, the current boss of the wholesale and ventures business, will lead BT Enterprise.
"Having brought together our consumer and EE businesses, this is the next step in the simplification of BT's operating model,” said BT’s chief executive, Gavin Patterson.
“Combining our enterprise businesses will allow us to strengthen the services and products we offer to businesses and sharpen our focus on customer service, through clear accountabilities and by introducing efficiencies.”
BT also announced that the head of the public sector division, Graham Sutherland, is stepping down after 12 years.
