“Netflix have spotted a hole in the market for a current affairs TV show encompassing both sides of the political divide and are seeking to fill it,” Marketwatch said, quoting the anonymous TV executive.

Meanwhile, the company has got itself into hot water after executive producers of the Netflix show “The Crown” admitted that Claire Foy, the actress who played Queen Elizabeth - i.e. the character in the show who wears the crown – got paid less than Matt Smith, who played the part of her husband, Prince Philip.
The producers vowed to rectify this in the next series of the drama.
“Going forward, no one gets paid more than the queen,” said Suzanne Mackie, creative director of Left Bank Pictures, which produced “The Crown.”
The decision will not benefit Foy; the part of Britain’s current sovereign will be played by Olivia Coleman in the next series, which will be based in the sixties and seventies.
