Google bans cryptocurrency ads

Neither Google or Facebook will allow cryptocurrency adverts

Google is banning adverts for cryptocurrency-related products and services from its advertising platform.

It means it will be more difficult to advertise initial coin offerings (ICOs), coin trading platforms or services such as digital currency ‘wallets’.

At the same time, Google is also being more stringent on advertising for certain other financial products, including binary options trading.

Previously, Facebook carried out a similar crack down on cryptocurrency advertising.

Google’s decision follows the Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) group’s ‘bad ads’ report.
